The Equinox is crisper and sportier than its predecessor, with nice proportions and a look that blends in well with the rest of the Chevy lineup. Inside, the cabin has lots of dramatic shapes and a central control panel that comes strikingly close to those in the Cadillac SRX—with vents flanking the radio and climate controls. It's an appearance that's also filtered down to the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze and other vehicles, and we like the new direction.
Under the hood you'll find a choice of either a 182-horsepower inline-4 or a 264-hp V6. Both of these engines deliver respectable acceleration, and the four-cylinder is notable for its above-average fuel economy (even though we've found it doesn't quite meet its lofty EPA estimates). Another Equinox selling point is its upscale good looks; the cabin is attractive and expensive-looking and features interior materials quality that's finally competitive with other choices in this segment.
One more thing that is lauded about the 2011 Chevrolet Equinox is the wide array of standard features. You can enjoy luxury amenities with a complementary one-year service with GM’s OnStar assistance. For the base model of Equinox, you can enjoy air conditioning, power windows and locks. It also has the keyless remote entry, bluetooth cellphone connectivity – which is very helpful i f you wish to talk on your cellphone without needing to bother about holding the cellphone. You can listen to the MP3 music using the USB iPod interface. Your kids may enjoy the dual screen rear seat DVD. Besides that it has rearview camera, navigation system. You may like to pay extra for the optional heated seats, and climate control.
